Florida Behavioral Health Credentialing: A Provider's Guide to Joining a Medicaid Network

Credentialing is the step that stands between a licensed behavioral health provider and a health plan's members. Long timelines and repeated paperwork are the most common frustrations. Here is how the process works with BSN and what to expect.

Who Can Be Credentialed?

BSN credentialing includes individual practitioners and group practices across behavioral health and substance abuse, including psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, licensed mental health counselors, licensed marriage and family therapists, and substance abuse counselors, among others.

How Long Does Credentialing Take?

BSN uses an NCQA-certified Credentials Verification Organization (CVO) to manage credentialing and re-credentialing, typically completing the process in under 30 days.

One Contract, Multiple Payers

You do not need a separate contract for each health plan. One contract with BSN grants access to multiple payer agreements, so you handle the paperwork once and BSN manages the relationships with each plan on your behalf.

A Dedicated Point of Contact

Every BSN provider is assigned a dedicated representative who answers the phone directly. Your representative handles credentialing questions, billing concerns, training, and day-to-day issues.

How to Apply

Start your application at join.bsnnet.com/register. The online process takes just a few minutes, and our credentialing team will guide you through each step and keep you updated on your status.

Once credentialed, you will receive your payer contract details, member referral information, and access to BSN's training resources.
